Samsung held its Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, 2026. The event took place in London. Samsung showed off new foldable phones, new smartwatches, and a first look at smart glasses. AI played a big role in every announcement. Here is a simple breakdown of everything Samsung revealed.
Samsung introduced a brand-new foldable shape this year. The Galaxy Z Fold8 has a wider design than past Fold phones. It works well for reading, gaming, and watching videos. The phone opens to a 7.6-inch screen. It closes to a 5.5-inch cover screen.
The Z Fold8 has a 4,800mAh battery. That battery gives up to 26 hours of video playback. Samsung says it is the lightest Fold phone the company has ever made. It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. Prices start at $1,900.
Samsung also launched a second Fold model this year. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra keeps the more familiar Fold shape. It opens to an 8-inch screen. It closes to a 6.5-inch cover screen.
This model uses a new Flex Titanium frame. Samsung calls it the thinnest Fold phone ever built. It has a 5,000mAh battery, the largest battery on any Galaxy Fold so far. It also runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. Prices start at $2,100.
The Galaxy Z Flip8 is Samsung's newest small foldable. It measures just 6.1mm thick when open. It weighs only 180 grams. Samsung says this makes it the thinnest and lightest Flip phone yet.
The cover screen got a big upgrade too. Samsung calls it the most useful cover screen so far. Many everyday tasks can now happen without opening the phone. The Z Flip8 starts at $1,200.
Some leaks suggest this could be Samsung's last small foldable phone. Samsung has not confirmed this rumor.
